Swiss Casino in Basel, Switzerland hit by robbers

Basel, SWITZERLAND– Early hours of Sunday morning and a Casino in Basel, Switzerland near the French borders, was raided by a gang consisted of about 10 members armed with pistols and machine guns. The gang members managed to get an undisclosed amount of money and are believed to escape in France.

The robbery in Switzerland reminds the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Berlin, where the 6th of March a gang attacked the casino guests and left with around $300,000. The criminals were captured some days after the incident by German Police.

The question now is if the level of security in European Casinos and Tournaments is adequate and what measures should be taken to avoid casualties or any potential tragedy.
