Operator of 2009: Bwin

Bwin is the Operator Of The Year, winner of EGR Awards 2009.

The Austrian gaming and betting giants, Bwin, topped the competition, beating other strong players in the industry such as Bet365, PartyGaming and Betfair.

The awards took place at London’s Old Billingsgate Market during the eGaming Review’s two-day conference and exhibition for betting and gaming operators.

Bwin reached the top of eGaming Review’s Power 50 leading operators for the second year. Bwin also announced that they acquired the succesful in Italian market, Gioco Digitale Poker Site.

According to the jury, the basic characteristics of Bwin that lead to the prize were "leadership, scale, consistency and brand strength for promoting responsible gaming and for exhibiting continuously consisted leadership".

Gaming industry players that were also high in the list Bet365, Betclick, Betfair, Partygaming and William Hill.
